Julie is from Miami Florida. She attended the University of Miami where she received a BM in Music Engineering Technology with a minor in Electrical Engineering.

As the former Music Mixer for "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" she's mixed live broadcasts for over one thousand artists including Elton John, Sting, Sheryl Crow, Coldplay, John Mayer, Beck, Dave Matthews, Bruce Springsteen, Joe Strummer, The Flaming Lips, Bjork, Outkast, Moby, Goldfrapp, Mary J. Blige, No Doubt, Thievery Corporation, Morcheeba, Ozomatli, Elvis Costello, Ben Folds, They Might Be Giants, Bare Naked Ladies, Green Day, 311, Blink-182, Snoop Dog, N.E.R.D., Alicia Keys, Norah Jones, Michelle Branch, Alanis Morrisette, Aimee Mann, Sarah McLachlin, Bonnie Raitt, Tori Amos, Joan Osborne, Faith Hill, Shania Twain, Lyle Lovett, Squeeze, Fuel, The Strokes, The Hives and The Cure.

She chaired the Audio Engineering Society Events: "Women in Audio" and "Mixing Sound for Saturday Night Live", and has been a panelist for AES's "Steps to the Future: Effectively Using Mentors to Help" and REMIX Magazine's "Producer's Panel and Workshop".

In the Spring of 2003, after many years and several EMMY award nominations for Sound Mixing, she left NBC to pursue her passion - Film. She received a certificate in Film Production from NYU and studied Screenwriting at Columbia University with David McKenna and with Mick Casale, Graduate Professor at Tisch School of the Arts, NYU.

Her first B&W-16mm film, "Last Dance", featuring World Champion Dancers Hazel and Tybaldt Ulrich, was shot at Cafe Charbon located on the corner of Stanton and Orchard streets, NYC. She moved to the Lower East Side of Manhattan in the Fall of 2003 and shot her first Color-16mm short, "Stay Good", in her own neighborhood in the Spring of 2004.

"Stay Good" has been shown at CinemaSLAM 2004, BAM Rose Cinemas, Brooklyn, NY and it was official selection for the 2005 Arlene's Grocery Picture Show Film Festival, NYC, where it won the "Judy Blume Award for Totally Understanding" - an honor for which she is most proud.

In the Spring of 2005 she worked with Politics TV as a camera person, helping them document citizens who went to Washington DC to distribute the book "Crashing the Gate" by Markos Moulitsas, to all the Democratic members of Congress.

In the Summer of 2005, she studied at Oxford University and while there, wrote the "Tripping Guide of Christ Church" (a parody tour guide). At the request of the University, she filmed a walking tour of Oxford. After her studies she remained in the UK to research her next screenplay, traveling to the Cotswolds, Wales, York and London. This feature length screenplay, "Restoring Faith" is a story about a young girl's adventures at a girls' orphanage in the English Countryside during World War II.

In the Fall of 2005, she was Director and Editor of the short film, "Right To Life" a Socio-Political street documentary about War, Religion and the value of Life. In this film, footage of evangelicals preaching on a street corner about their values is juxtaposed with graphic images of the Iraq War. The film has been featured on the popular political website CrooksandLiars.com

In 2006, she was a camera person for the documentary, "Project Alabama", capturing NYC Fashion Week runway footage and location interviews in Alabama for sustainable fashion designer: 'Project Alabama'.
She was also the Director and Editor for "Net Roots in Action", a short documentary about concerned citizens attempting to meet with their Senators Hillary Clinton and Chuck Schumer. This work appeared on CrookandLiars.com and was praised by members of the Firedoglake.com and DailyKos.com community.

In 2007, she was the camera person for "Talking the Talk: The Creative Coalition's 21st Century Debate Dialogues", produced by The Creative Coalition and Second Life. It was a live broadcast of their keynote program in New Hampshire for the 2008 CNN Presidential Debates, a panel discussion moderated by The Creative Coalition Advisory Board member Lawrence O'Donnell, Jr. which featured Arianna Huffington and Joe Pantoliano.

Her screenplay, "Killer Looks", won First Place in a film Pitch Competition on the popular screenwriters' website Write Here, Write Now, hosted by Lucy Vee. The competition ran concurrent with the Cheltenham Screenwriter's Festival in the UK which she attended as well.

In the Summer of 2007, she was one of the Technical Coordinators for the Live broadcast of the 2007 Yearly Kos Convention on the website Second Life. Video from this broadcast was featured on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.

Recently, she created a video featuring highlights from the Blogger's Brunch at the 2007 Yearly Kos Convention and she directed and edited another street documentary covering the protests in front of Senator Schumer's office over his support for AG nominee, Michael Mukasey. These videos were featured on Firedoglake.com and Daily Kos. She directed and edited the video "Thank You Senator Dodd" featuring heartfelt comments, in support of Senator Dodd's fight against Telecom Immunity, by concerned citizens including NY comics Katie Halper and Jamie Kilstein. The video was a featured post on Firedoglake.com.

And her short fairy tale, "Pop-Up Princess", a story about a young girl's valiant rescue of her brother who's stuck inside a pop-up book, was selected by a UK animation production studio for inclusion in a children's TV series. The project is currently awaiting funding.

Today, she is happily married, living in Tribeca, NYC with her brilliant and handsome Hubby and their two kitties, Blinkey and Buddy.
